Building a Sand Castle

Building a Sandcastle is a fun activity in which children create castles using paper cups and toilet paper rolls based on picture templates. While building, children carefully observe the templates, compare individual elements, and try to recreate the same construction. This resource playfully develops visual perception, spatial awareness, logical thinking, concentration, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. By working with real objects, children also practise patience, perseverance, and simple problem-solving skills. The activity is suitable for individual work as well as for pair or small-group cooperation and uses materials that are easily available in every preschool setting.
