Aquarium

Aquarium is a hands-on manipulative activity for preschool children that supports visual perception, early math skills, fine motor development, and concentration. Children use the task cards to place the correct number of fish, snails, or shrimp into the 3D aquarium. The cards can be laminated and used with a dry-erase marker to write numbers or dice-like dots in the prepared circles, allowing the tasks to be easily changed and the activity reused many times. The aquarium is simple to create by laminating the colourful base and attaching the separate transparent front part with double-sided foam tape, creating a lovely 3D effect where children place the sea animals directly “into the water”. The resource also includes a blank black-and-white aquarium where children can draw their own fish and underwater world. After laminating, it can be used as a reusable wipe-clean mat for drawing with dry-erase markers. This versatile activity offers children a fun way to learn through play while developing important preschool skills.
